“I am an admirer of Modi. Coming from a poor background, he has worked hard to reach where he has today,†Tiwari said from the dais.
Kumar severed ties with the BJP a few months ago to protest Modi’s elevation in the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Bihar CM had questioned Modi’s secular credentials and suggested he could exacerbate communal tensions between Hindus and Muslims in India.
In an apparent dig at Kumar, Tiwari said that he could not reach the CM’s chair because he has always valued loyalty. He added that the idea to ask for a special package for Bihar from the Centre, which Kumar demanded, was originally his idea.
