“Minority Appeasement Policy – State Government will Bite Dust in Neyyatinkara”: Vellappilly

published on March 28, 2012

Kochi:“If the State Government continues its policy of minority appeasement in the same vein, they shall suffer dire consequences in the forth coming by polls to be held in Neyyatinkara,” said SNDP General Secretary Vellappilly Natesan. He was addressing a gathering in connection with the consecration of a temple dedicated to Sree Narayana Guru at the SNDP unit of Vaduthala, Ernakulam.

“It is definitely not ethical if a particular community hijacks matters of state governance. Taking into consideration the State Ministry, 12 ministers are from the minority community. And under their surveillance comes 65 out of the 110 corporations. And in the name of maintaining balanced governance, these people have drained the treasury. Kerala has not, till now, witnessed a situation as disgusting as this,” he said.

“The members of the minority community were elected to the Legislative Assembly with the collective votes of the members of all communities. But as soon as roles in leadership were assigned, they have started channelizing the benefits solely for their community members. The position of eminence they have been bestowed with is now being divided only for those they consider their own. They have forgotten that Muslims and Christians are not the sole inhabitants of Kerala. No one has been even given anything with a statement like ‘

It is extremely disheartening to know that those belonging to the backward and scheduled sections have not been able to comprehend the seriousness of the issue till now,” said Vellappilly.

“Even before our Chief Minister Oomen Chandy declared the members of his cabinet, Muslim League in Malappuram had declared their candidates. Now discussions are in progress for grabbing berth for the fifth minister. Congress party has adopted an attitude of slavishness to appease the minority community. The statement made by Govt. Chief whip PC George, about UDF candidate from Neyyatinkara, Selvaraj consolidating a sure victory with 35,000 votes, need not be given any serious thought. You can even consider the statement as a mere blabber made by him, because if the State Government continues with the policy of appeasement, it will be the opposite side that secures victory with a margin of 35,000 votes,” continued Vellappilly Natesan.

“Till now AK Antony has been the only person in Kerala, to voice out eloquently and boldly, the biased attitude of giving undue importance to those of the minority community. And for that, he was ostracized. But since he has an abundance of God’s grace with him, the very same people who rebuffed him, now stand before him with folded hands, just the way Hanuman stands before Sree Raman,” said Vellappilly.
