Man murdered by Muslim friends over live in relationship with Muslim woman
SURAT: Police have cracked the murder of a 24-year-old man whose half-burnt body was found on Thursday from an open farm in Dindoli area of the city. Dipak Jaiswal, a resident of Udhna, was bludgeoned to death and then the body was set on fire by the accused to make its identification difficult, police said on Monday.
Jaiswal, who for his livelihood did petty jobs, was murdered by his two friends, who lived near his house, over his relationship with a woman from their community. They had asked him to end his relationship with the woman, but he chose to shift to another locality to escape from the pressure put by them. Police arrested Ali Mahemood alias Alla Nasir Khan Sunni, 25, and Imtiyaz Pathan, 46, for their alleged involvement in the murder of Jaiswal. The police suspect more people to be involved in the murder.
Jaiswal’s body was identified by his family members from the photographs provided by the police. The deceased was asked by the accused to accompany them to Dindoli as they needed to recover money from someone there.
Sunni and Pathan had planned the murder as they were against his live-in relationship with the woman for the last one-and-half year. The couple also had a four-month-old daughter.
