MANGALORE: The Bihar police were granted transit warrant of Aysha Banu and her husband Zubair on Wednesday. JMFC III court judge gave the warrant that will enable the police to take the couple to Bihar for interrogation over suspected money transactions involving the Indian Mujahideen.

The couple was picked up by Mangalore City and Bihar police on Tuesday from their house in Panjimogaru. There is no clear indication when the Bihar police will take the accused to their state since the woman constable, required as escort for Aysha, has not yet reached Mangalore.

Lakhisarai superintendent of police Rajeev Mishra told TOI that two women constables have left for Mangalore and will escort the couple to Bihar. “I cannot reveal when they will reach Mangalore and depart due to security reasons,” he said.

Some accounts have been closed and we are also looking into it,” he said revealing that seven passbooks were found at the couple’s house.
