Lord Ganesh acted through Joseph Xavior to save a school in Ramanathapuram
The premises of Setupati Middle School situated close to the market in Ramanathapuram was used by a few residents of the area as latrine resulting in unbearble stench. The students began to shift to other schools.
Joseph Xavior who became the Headmaster of the school at this wretched condition noticed a Ganesh temple inside the school in a dilapidated state. Amid opposition and with great difficulty, he saw to it that the temple was renovated and Kumbhabhishekham performed. Now the school presents a clean and welcome ambience, thanks to the thoughtful service of Joseph, a Christian by religion.
He was felicitated with ‘Govindanji Award’ for his meaningful service at the annual day of Sri Ramalinga Anbu Illam, an Orphanage run by Hindu organisations in the town. Govindanji was a pracharak of RSS who organised temple devotees in southren districts of Tamilnadu in 1970s.
