Kolkata High Court backs proposed Hindu Samhati Rally on 14 Feb, 2012
Despite intense pressure from the Islamist lobby, both within and outside the government of West Bengal, the Kolkata High Court backed Hindu Samhati to hold its 4th Anniversary Rally, on February 14, 2012 on Raja Subodh Mallik Square (Wellington Square) in the city.
.
In an effort to appease Islamists, the government authorities had cancelled permission for the rally at the last moment. Sources alleged that M.P. Sultan Ahmed, MLA and city councillor Iqbal Ahmed were instrumental in coercing the Mamata Banerjee administration to take this decision. The High Court decision has not only dismayed the agencies, but has also proved once more, that the administration’s entire approach was to incriminate and inhibit Hindu aspirations, in order to placate Islamists.
.
This verdict has also proved that Hindu Samhati’s march is constitutional and legitimate and Hindu Samhati shall march on. We look forward to seeing everyone at Raja Subodh Mallik Square (Wellington Square) on February 14, 2012 at 2 pm.
