Kerala’s Raju Narayana Swamy IAS to serve Narendra Modi as IT Secretary of Gujarat?
According to the latest reports, Raju Narayana Swamy, senior IAS officer, who had until recently held the post of Commissioner, Civil Supplies Department of Kerala, will team up with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Sources have stated that the IAS officer hailing from Kerala is all set to join Modi’s team as IT Secretary of Gujarat.
However Kerala government is also said to have sought permission from the Centre to have him back to state folds. Swamy currently holds the post of Secretary of Army Welfare department in Kerala, after he was shifted from the Civil Supplies Department.
Raju Narayana Swamy has constantly been in news for being at loggerheads with the state government of Kerala for trying to expose corruption. He was allegedly removed from his post for the same reason. He has a unique track record of securing first rank in IIT entrance examination, first rank in All India IIT Computer Science, first rank in IAS entrance examination and first rank in IAS Training Institute.
Swamy’s career has been replete with controversies, for his role in taking on various ministers for their alleged roles in cases related to corruption regarding land deals.
He was one of the officers handpicked by the state government to evict encroachers during the Munnar operation.
During his investigations Swamy inquired into an illegal land deal by the son and daughter of former public works minister TU Kuruvilla, who resigned over the matter. Swamy also proceeded against former minister PJ Joseph and his relatives regarding their alleged illegal landholdings
“In my service life I have always fought corruption. We could be sidelined but officers should not get demoralized.The public applause we get for taking strong stand on issues is what keeps us going’’ said the genius, who was recently removed from the post of civil supplies commission for a vigilance probe against Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob.
