‘Kerala Model Development ? Please elaborate Mr Vayalar Ravi

published on April 21, 2013

Within couple of days of Union Minister Vayalar Ravi’s criticism on Gujarat model of development, Prime Minister itself today presented an award for excellence in Gujarat’s Skill development programme.

The other day Vayalar Ravi snubbed Shibu Baby John , Kerala’s Labour minister who went to Gujarath to learn more about this skill development programme. Vayalar Ravi then told that Gujarat should follow the development model of Kerala. It was a news to many that there is even a ‘Kerala development model’!

Kerala’s development is solely based on foreign remittances and that is the reason why there is so much panic in the state when there is news from Gulf about ‘Arabisation’ of jobs. Kerala is now the number one consumer state in India in which we have to depend other states for even basic things like milk, rice, vegetables or egg. Thanks to inefficient energy planning , the state blessed abundant natural resources like water and rare minerals are looming in darkness while in Gujarat powercut is a long forgotten phenomena since Modi came to power.

Even Chinese consular are queing to meet Modi to learn about Gujarat model of development and here comes a Minister who wants Kerala to loom in darkness and impotency in all fields out of political intolerance advice Gujarat to emulate ‘Kerala Model development’!

Vayalr Ravi should explain to people of Kerala that why today Prime Minister  of his own government granted this award to Gujarat’s Skill development programme. What right he have to snub Shibu Baby John who wanted to do some good work in Kerala for the unemployed youth by emulating Gujarat model.
