Karnataka Local Body Elections – BJP Far ahead

Bangalore: Results of local body elections pouring from Karnataka – Once again proved that People in Karnataka had phoo-phooed the negative campaign by Congress leadership and reasserted their faith in ruling BJP Government lead by B S Yediyurrappa.

The vote counting for the much awaited zilla/taluk panchayat polls in Karnataka has started on Tuesday, Jan 4. The election in state was completed on Friday, Dec 31. The BJP, Congress and JD-S are locked in a three-way fight in a majority of the 1,013 zila and 3,659 taluka panchayat seats.

BJP – 217
JD(S) – 91
Cong – 180
Others – 17

BJP – 539
JD(S) – 274
Cong – 480
Others – 48
