Kandahar Episode vs Bhopal Gas Tragedy
When Jaswant Singh was expelled from BJP, “Secular” media was busy gathering information from him on whether he acted as a cover for L.K.Advani in escorting 3 terrorists to be released. It was like a Badam Halwa for the media !
Â
Whenever BJP accused the Congress of being soft on terror viz. Not Hanging Afzal Guru, repealing POTA etc. , Congress made it a point to rake the Kandahar episode and silence BJP.
Â
This is what Wikipedia has to say:
Â
On Kandahar episode “The hijackers initially demanded the release of 35 Islamic militants in Indian jails and US$200 million in cash but Indian negotiators succeeded in persuading the hijackers in reducing their demand to the release of three prisoners.”
Â
On Bhopal Gas Tragedy “The official immediate death toll was 2,259 and the government of Madhya Pradesh has confirmed a total of 3,787 deaths related to the gas release”
Â
Now it is left to any one to decide which of the two is shameful:
Â
Negotiating and Releasing 3 Criminals to save the lives of 175 passengers (or)Â
Escorting and Biding Adieu to a criminal who was indirectly responsible for 3,787 victims already dead.
Â
In Kandahar episode it was blackmail with lives of Indians at stake which made the BJP cede to the demand of Talibans.
Â
In Bhopal Gas Tragedy there is no question of Black Mail with thousands already dead. What made the Congress PM and CM to escort Warren Anderson and let him go scot free? The answer is in the lockers of Swiss Banks !
