Allahabad: A senior BJP leader on Friday projected Kalyan Singh as the Chief Ministerial candidate for upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

“The BJP will fight all assembly seats in the state and form its own government with Kalyan Singh as Chief Minister,” senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said in Allahabad.

Alleging that free and fair polls were not possible under the present dispensation, he said his party favoured imposition of President’s rule in the state.

The BJP leader, who was inspecting preparations for the Ardh Kumbh congregation, accused the Mulayam Singh Yadav government of not providing adequate facilities at the venue.

On pollution in river Ganga, the BJP leader said the alarming rise in the pollution calls for a review of the Ganga Action Plan.
