J&K temples for sale
Sir—Pandits in Jammu & Kashmir allege that Hindu temple properties are being illegally sold in the State. The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court to save the Shiv temple opposite the Meteorological Department in Jammu, but no action has been taken so far. The Muslim-majority Government in the State is silent on the issue. The temple, which is about 1,200 years old and is worth Rs 300 crore, will be reduced to just a piece of land once sold. It is disheartening to know that there is no media attention being given to this issue.
