Jihadi’s’ ‘secret meet’ busted, 7 held in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD: The Nampally police picked up seven activists belonging to the Popular Front of India (PFI) on Wednesday night who were reportedly holding a national-level “secret meeting” at a city hotel.

According to sources, on receiving intelligence inputs, a team of Nampally police raided Hotel DM Residency at Nampally and picked up Mohammed Ali Jinnah, national secretary of PFI, and six others. The six included Mufti Abdul Subhan, PFI AP president, Habeebullah, Kerala state secretary, and Rafeeq Maulana, Abdullah Khan, Shahullah Ameer and Rasheed, all executive members of the PFI.

They were shifted to Nampally police station for questioning. The detained PFI activists reportedly told police that since Mufti Abdul Subhan was going to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage they wanted to felicitate him. “The activists were booked under section151 of CrPC (Preventive arrest) and let off late in the night,” said DCP Central Zone, V B Kamalasan Reddy.The intelligence agencies had intensified their watch over the activities of the organization following the arrest of 21 PFI members in Kannaur, Kerala, four days ago. During the raid in Kerala, the police had recovered country-made bombs and other arms from their possession.
