Jihadis Kidnap and Convert Middle Aged Man; Conversion Centre has 42 Kidnapped Hindu Youths?

A middle aged man is said to have been kidnapped, to get him religiously converted to Islam, alleges his wife and children. He has been traced and produced before court by police. Sources have stated that a group specifically appointed for this task, which has Manjeri as its centre, is behind this heinous task. It has also been revealed that as many as 42 Hindu youths, hailing from various parts of Kerala, were present in the Jihadi religious conversion centre.

According to sources, Poombanakallil Sasidharan, hailing from Velliyamattam is the mentioned victim, who has been missing from his home since 7 October. A case was filed by his wife Rajamma, following which police traced him to Manjeri.

“Sasidharan is said to have gone to Manjeri for some personal work and was to return home in two days time. But he failed to return home, following which police initiated a manhunt. He was traced to the official centre of the conversion centre. Police have taken him to custody,” said sources.

Reports state that the conversion group was quick to stop police from entering their premises. “They also sought a declaration from police that Sasidharan would be returned to their centre, after being produced in court. A man named Abdul Latif has accompanied Sasidharan to the court, in order to ensure that he returns back, as per their directives. Abdul Latif is allegedly connected with terror groups as well,” cited sources.

Sasidharan has been sent home for two days, by Thodupuzha CJM court. He has been granted police protection, with summons to appear after two days. Even though Sasidharan claims that the conversion was done according to his wishes, his family members suspect brainwashing, among other anomalies.
