Gorakhpur, May 22: Three bomb blasts rocked this temple town here, injuring ten people, Sahara Samay sources said.
The blasts have been reported near Jalkal building, Baldev Plaza and Golghar area of the city.
The first bomb went off at around 6.40pm and was followed by other two in gap of five minutes.
Uttar Pradesh Home Secretary K. Chandramouli said that the “light” bombs appeared to have been used. He said there was no specific information of the possibility of blast in that area.
According to the channel sources, the crude bombs were kept in tiffin boxes.
Prima facie, the hand of any terrorist outfit could not be ruled out.
A high alert has been sounded in the state including, Lucknow and Varanasi after the blasts.
Such blasts have been reported first time in the history of the city.
Senior officials have rushed to the site.
It had been reported in the recent times that the Northern India including the cities like Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi were on the target of the terrorists.
