RSS chief’s security upgraded

Nagpur: The security of RSS chief K S Sudarshan has been upgraded from ‘Z’ to ‘Z plus’ in view of threat perception and intelligence inputs, police sources said today.

“The security for top RSS leader has been enhanced to ‘Z plus’ which means some additional security measures for him that includes checking of meals and water prior to his taking, an ambulance van to follow his motorcade,” the sources told newspersons.

The sources said police were already keeping a tight vigil at the RSS headquarters ‘Hedgewar Bhawan’ in Mahal in eastern part of the city where three Pakistani ultras had made a futile attempt to attack the building on June 1.

The trio were, however, gunned down by a police team during an encounter. Since then, police were gathering intelligence and fresh inputs compelled them to upgrade Sudarshan’s security it to next category, the sources said.
