Four Islamic student association activists held in Kannur
Pioneer News Service | Kannur
The Police arrested four youths who were trying to destroy the flex boards hosted in connection with the festival of a local temple near Bekal in Kasargod district .On interrogation the youths revealed that they were members of the Islamic Student association which is an organization not having much activity in the state Intelligence sources revealed that the Islamic student organization or ISA is an off shoot of a Kashmir based organization and that the youths may have received training from across the border
The Pioneer had reported earlier that some Islamic camps are functioning in the Kerala -Karnataka border near to Coorg and the recent arrest of Mohammed Ghouse from another Islamic camp in Hubli and his revelations have given sleepless nights for the forces in the four southern states.
The police are tight lipped on the identity of the youths but highly placed sources told The Pioneer that a thorough investigation is on to extract the details of these youths and the clandestine activities in which they were possibly involved.
The youths are all in their early twenties and the interrogation is on to extract as to whether they have received the four layer of training which is mandatory for the hardline Jihadis.
The arrest of Pakistani citizen Fahad from Mysore and his revelations that he had stayed in Kozhikode as the guest of his fathers relatives had sent shock waves across the spine of the state police .The Police is still not in a position to ascertain as to how much damage he had committed in the state during his stay in Kozhikode
The police is also baffled at the growth of an Islamist organization which is amassing wealth and is in the process of acquiring prime properties for spreading their work and there are reports of the presence of some hardliners in this organization who have some connections which should be probed deeply by the Indian Intelligence agencies
The Police is also interrogating some former activists of a banned Islamic organization and sources in the force revealed that these are routine questioning to ascertain whether these youths had any contact with these people .These youths are not in touch with the Islamist groups of late as they feel that they are of the feeling that over indulgence in such cases would lead to them jeopardizing their student carriers.
While most of the youths who are indoctrinated into the terror getaway are from ordinary ,poor or middle class backgrounds recently the police was taken by surporse on the presence of some filthy rich youths who wanted to loose their lives for some causes which they find would match the aspirations of their souls.
The state police is also on a sticky wicket as far as the sophisticated modern day investigations are concerned .The police is now in the process of modernization and it seems that the plans to total computerization of all the police stations using the GPS facility in place would give added advantage to the state police in tackling crime.
