Indian Army jawan killed in Poonch

POONCH: An army jawan was killed in an encounter between security forces and Islamic militants near LOC here just before polling for the first phase started in the district.

An encounter took place when security forces opened fire on a group of militants who tried to enter into this side to sabotage the election process in Berirukh area in Mendhar assembly constituency.

In the gun battle, a jawan was killed. The encounter is still going on and two militants are suspected to be still in the area, sources said.
