Dinakaran case: HC Bench admits CBI’s appeal – ENS; 16-3-11

To recap : On 7-5-2007 an organised mob of goondas owing allegiance to Alagiri, Madurai’s DMK Capo and elder son of TN Chief Minister Karunanidhi attacked the premises of Dinakaran, a Tamil newspaper owned and run by Dayanidhi Maran, grandson of Karunanidhi. The ofices were set on fire and three of the staff burnt alive inside, and the whole process was “videoed” possibly by onlookers and witnessed by friendly policemen. A very open-and-shut case one would have thought, except in feudal Tamil Nadu where it seems to have been taken lightly as a Family War, an intenal matter for the First Family of TN to handle, – never mind that three innocent, civilian non-family human beings were roasted alive. As expendable as Omalur convent school girls or Godhra Kar Sevaks.

Some farce of a Court indulged itself and entertained us in a trial spread over a couple of years, during which 85 “witnesses” turned hostile, or “recanted”, the Marans and Alagiri and Karunanidhi made a Truce, declared an Armistice, or called a Cease Fire, and the 17 accused were “acquitted” by the Court and walked free, in December 2009.

Not surprisingly no one wonders how much richer the “witnesses”, cadregoons, judges, lawyers, policemen and videographers became.

Now another farce of a belated “Appeal” seems to have been filed and the HC of Mudurai is perhaps all set to “condone” the delay, as the prelude to condoning the murders, arson etc.
No wonder the Allies have to indulge in large scale loot to keep the hounds of heaven well-fed, happy and chained up to do their bidding and nothing else.

Incredible India? No – Impotent India.
