I won’t accept flowers, felicitations: RSS leader

MANGALORE: ‘‘I will not receive flower-garlands or felicitations,’’ RSS leader Dr Madhav Bhandari declared after becoming President of Mangalore Urban Development Authority.

This is for the first time that a BJP nominee was appointed as MUDA president. Dr Madhav Bhandari who completed MBBS from KMC is working as a medical practitioner for the past 39 years. Jailed for 18 months during the emergency he has been sanghachalak of RSS since 1991.

Founder of Hosa Diganta daily which he started in 1979, he is also the managing director of Hosa Diganta group. Having participated in the Ayodhya movement, Bhandary had represented the state in Hindu Virat Sammelan planned in London in 1989.

While soliciting the co-operation from people Dr Bhandary said he will strive to realise the comprehensive development of Mangalore during his term.
