HK Seva update- Thanks for your support ! A new lease of life for five kids

HK Seva Teams effort to stand up for the neglected causes of Hindus have got an overwhelming support and blessings from  our well-wishers and day to day readers.
In one of it’s first project undertaken by the team was the education support  to 5 needy children from very poor financial background, without which they would have ended up as school drop outs. We are sure it will make a difference in their life.

 On our appeal on 20th May 2013 regarding “what else can you do for 1000 Rs ?” we had tremendous support from you all. Required money has flown in from various parts of the world in support of this initiative and for us it was a big responsibility to identify the right beneficiary.

Out of many organizations which require our support and attention, this time HK Seva Team has identified Rashtrotthana Parishat as the beneficiary as they are one of the best in providing service activities to the downtrodden in the society. Rashtrothana trust was doing its best to support poor children by offering very low fees structure, with a good quality education. Principal of the school says, ‘we arrange good teachers though we cannot really afford so’. Children are encouraged in many extracurricular activities such as music, yoga, martial arts, quiz competitions etc.

 Upon discussions with school management, it was understood that there are many school drop outs. It was really an eye opener to see how lower income parents are struggling to place their children in schools but not having money to do so.

 As per school analysis of drop outs, the following are the reason standing out

 1)    Poor financial status of parents. Unable to spend on multiple children education

 2)    Not willing to send students to school, instead send them for daily jobs

 3)    Many troubled families, where there is no focus on children and their education

 4)    Christian missionary activities where they prefer Hindu students in their schools for probable conversion later.

  On our request, school has identified 5 drop out children who’s all educational expenses (school fees, uniform, books) will be supported by our initiative. Our contribution of 35,000 is handed over to the Secretary of Rashtotthana School on 10th June 2013 at school assembly function. Rashtrotthana School’s secretary has expressed school’s happiness and thanks to our humble contribution in their effort of man making for a better society.
