HJS demands Removal Of The Denigrating Song From ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’

Mumbai – Hindu Janjagruti Samiti has demanded for removal of the denigrating song ‘Havan Karaenge’ from ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ wide appeal dated 30.7.2013 to Chief Minister & Cultural Affairs Minister of Maharashtra.

HJS had demonstrated protests at various places and written to Central Board of Film Certification on 28th June 2013 hurting of religious sentiments of Hindus through a highly objectionable song in the movie containing the following lyrics “Havan-kund Maston ka Jhund… Havan Karenge, Havan Karenge, Havan Karenge, Havan Karenge”.

The decision of Maharashtra Govermnment of making ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag film ‘tax free is like rubbing salts on the wounds of Hindus.Secondly when the State is in need of funds due to draught etc. there is loss of revenue from tax money through the promotion of the movie which is unexplainable. Lastly promoting the movie with the derogatory song means indirect encouragement by the government to defame Hindu religion at the cost of exchequer. From this incidents it suggests that the Government and Censor Board is sensitive to religious sentiments of Muslims and Christians in the state and apathetic to Hindus sentiments.

HJS has has stated that they are not against movie, as it is about our Legend, but why is defamation of Hindu religion allowed in the film? The defamatory song is not making him a legend or a true fact which is necessary for the movie. Recently producers of the movie ‘Policegiri’ agreed to drop an item song from the movie, as Christians have objected the way in which a ‘rosary’ has been used in the song. The movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ was banned in some states of the country due to objections raised by Muslims. Will the producers of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ care to accord similar respect to sentiments of Hindus?
