TIRUNELVELI: Sixty people, mostly converted Christians and Muslims, including children, Re- converted to Hinduism at a ceremony organised here on Sunday. The ceremony was conducted at a marriage hall at Tirunelveli Town on Sunday.

The people, who Re-converted to Hinduism were mostly from Palayamkottai, Kokkirakulam, Kurichi in Tirunelveli city and Sankarankoil area. People from Sathankulam and Thisayanvilai in Thoothukudi district also participated in the conversion ceremony, which was organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. VHP state secretary P K Sampath Kumar said: “There was no compulsion,  all of them voluntarily converted to Hinduism.

Out of Sixty, seven were Muslims and rest Converted Christians, 18 among them were Children. Growth of Hindu organisations like VHP in rural areas helped Hindus to regain their dignity in the caste ridden societies. The Villages which still practice untouchability and caste based discrimination in Tamilnadu are the strongholds of Dravidian parties. As a pact made between Missionaries – These political parties muster and support case based divisions – So that Missionaries can reap the benefit of it.

Hindu organisations need to make more inroads to these caste ridden villages and should take positive actions to liberate them from being puppets of Politicians and instill sense of oneness, pride and dignity among them.
