Hindu Helpline Campaign to Combat Love Jihad

On the auspicious day of Vijayadasami, Kerala’s Hindu Helpline will launch a widespread campaign against the growing menace of Love Jihad. The programme named ‘Dharma Samsthapanaarthayaam’ (Resurrection of Dharma) promoted by Hindu Helpline, will be launched in all Devi Temples from tomorrow. The inauguration in SreeRajarajeswari Temple will take place at 10.30 am.

According to Hindu Helpline activists, the “menace is growing at an alarming pace”. “Hindu girls are ensnared with ploys of romance and love. They are then lured to marriage, before which they are coerced into converting to Islam. They are then subject to unfathomable grief, misery and trauma following marriage. Many of them even contemplate suicide,” said the activist.

Through the first round of programme, officials will identify over ten thousand people who are willing to work as volunteers. Among them, there will be a section that will be entrusted with the task of creating an awareness about Love Jihad, the social monster, which is now yet another face of global terrorism.

“Booklets exposing tortures and torments suffered by victims will be enumerated and distributed. Volunteers plan to visit each and every household in the state with the proposed campaign against Love Jihad,” said an activist.

A brief pamphlet has been released on Love Jihad, which states clearly that “school/ college students, IT professionals, children of those affluent in spheres of socio- cultural and caste based organizations are usually the most common victims of love-jihad.”
