New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre on a Public Interest Litigation that has been filed accusing Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of bribing voters.

The PIL alleges that Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh’s decision to host a dinner to garner support for their presidential candidate — now President — Pratibha Patil, was actually a way to bribe voters.

In this case, the voters are the Members of Parliament. The Centre has to respond to the court’s notice by August 29, 2007.
