Guruvayur: The Kerala High Court has placed a stay order on the move initiated by Malabar Devaswom Board, of taking over Parthasarathy Temple in Guruvayur. The interim order comes from the division bench, following a petition filed by temple administrative body including president Gopalakrishnan and secretary Jayadevan etc. The Court confirmed as erroneous, the move made by Malabar Devaswom Board in forcibly taking over temple administration, after distorting a previous High Court verdict stating that measures should be taken to implement smooth administration of temple matters.

Flaying the government for proceeding to take over temple administration and terming the same as inappropriate, the Court order, clearly outlined that temple matters and activities must continue in the usual mode, till the final verdict is delivered. “Those who are members of the administrative board have been entrusted with the duty of temple management,” clarifies the interim order issued by the Bench comprising of Justice V Chidambaresh and Justice Sateesh Ninan.
