Guj min’s daughter ties the knot at mass marriage in Mumbai
Mumbai : With an aim to eradicate evils of dowry system, Gujarat minister Parshottam Solanki today conducted the wedding of his youngest daughter in a mass ceremony here, where 64 other couples also tied the knot.Â
 “I feel the mass marriage system will eliminate the dowry system. I have been supporting this since last 30 years. Two of my daughters – Deepmala and Chetna got married in a mass marriage. Today my youngest daughter Jignisha is also getting married the same way,” Solanki told PTI here.
A total of 65 marriages will be solemnised at the SRPF ground in suburban Goregaon. Altogether 38 Maharashtrian and 27 Gujarati weddings will take place at the ground here.
The Odhavji Ramji Solanki Trust, which is in the name of the minister’s father, conducted the mass marriages here.
The marriages would be conducted in accordance with the rituals of the community to which the couples belong, he said.Â
