Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
John Quincy Adams

Location: Land belonging to Sree Veerabhadra Swami Temple which is located in YSR Estate , Idupulapaya Village, Vempalli Mandal, Kadapa District (Approx. 400+ Kms from Hyderabad).

YSR Estate is the estate of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of acres belong to this estate. Very few people know how the land was acquired to form an Estate. This Estate is being developed by the Chief Minister.

1)As soon as the news was published in one of the Telugu news papers, our Hindu Devalaya Parirakshana Samiti (HDPS) Office personnel in Hyderabad went to Kadapa  to visit the Temple on March 20, 2008. The team headed by Swami Kamal Kumar, D. Satyanarayana (Nalgonda), Shyam Prasad Mukerjee (Advocate, Tadepalligudam), Srinivasula Reddy (Poddutur) and  many other local villagers had a meeting in the village  to  find out the happenings of the proposed auctioning of the Temple.

2)Since the Temple land is in the YSR Estate, our team went to view the property. Our team was not allowed to enter the gate of YSR Estate. Private security personnel guarding the Estate did not allow the team to go to the land that was to be auctioned. After engaging in negotiations with the Security, only two members of our team was allowed into the Estate. Assistant Commissioner of Endowments and Manager of the Estate who were supposed to look after the land were not available to discuss the matter.

3) In order to express our concerns and our opposition to the auction of the Temple Property, Letters were drafted and Telegrams  from almost all the districts were sent to Collector Kadapa District, Revenue Secretary, Endowments Commissioner & Chief Minister. Key members of our HDPSteam and office bearers of Zilla organizations objecting to the auction of Sree Veerabhadra Swami Temple lands sent telegrams to a number of government officials.

4) As our team could not get meet with officials, legal options pursued and action initiated.  One farmer by the name Mr. Balakrishna (Farmer from Vempalli village) went to the court and got a stay order.

Please note that since we started HDPS office in December 2006, fifteen stay orders were obtained  by HDPS under the leadership of Swami Kamal Kumar. We salute his sheer determination and dedication to protect our Temples from the clutches of the government.
