Glorification of Indian Hindu woman marrying Pakistani Muslim in ‘Total Siyappa’ movie

published on March 23, 2014

In a Hindi film titled ‘Total Siyappa’, it is shown that an Indian Hindu woman from India – Pakistan border area, falls in love with a Muslim from Pakistan. The films stars starring Ali Zafar and Yami Gautam. The film glorifies Pakistan and shows India in bad light. Directed by E Niwas, the film tells the story of a Pakistani youth (Zafar) settled in London, and his relationship with an Indian girl (Gautam).

“There are dialogues in the film like, ‘In India, more people die of corruption than a bomb blast in Pakistan’ and ‘R&AW is more dangerous than the ISI.’ They seriously insult our country.

Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, the District Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad  has demanded through a letter written to Central Film Censor Board, immediate ban on this film that wagers identity of this country and encourages ‘love jihad’. (State Govt. banned shows of Christians’ ‘de Da Vinci Code’; Central Censor Board did not give permission for release of film titled ‘Ya Rab’ as it exposes Muslim fanaticism. Central Film Censor Board is very much concerned about religious sentiments of Muslims; but will it pay attention to HJS demand made in lawful manner or it expects that Hindus should follow the path of minorities in showing their opposition ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

It has been stated in the letter…..

1. The film, in which many Pakistani actors are associated, released on 7th March all over India.
(Indian actors are prohibited from releasing a film in Pakistan; besides there is prohibition on them for taking part in local programs. Even then, producers of this film, who have brought Pakistani actors here and glorified them, are anti-nationals. Patriots should boycott all films of such producers ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat )

2.  Pakistan has in a way wedged a war with India through incidents like cutting off heads of Indian soldiers, terrorism, destruction of Hindu temples in Pakistan etc. In such situation, releasing the film will be rubbing salt into Indians’ wounds.
3. Indian history is not based on a fake love story as shown in the film but is based on valour. The story of the film is like maligning image of brave Hindu women who had condemned cruel Mughals.

4. The producer and director of this film have purposely attacked religious sentiments of Hindus; therefore, pro-Hindu organizations from all over the country are opposing the film.

5. The film can increase communal disharmony and create law and order problems. The Censor Board should, therefore, take note of this letter and ban release of this film.
