“Garibi hatao”,phir, “Emergency”– Bathao!

The most corrupt party of India, the Congress party has planned to revive the “Garibi Hatao” policy. “Garibi Hatao”   was a slogan coined to high light the 20 point program, which was a ploy adopted by Indhra Gandhi to win the confidence & trust of the people, which she completely lost immediately after declaring emergency, bringing the entire nation under darkness.  The people of this country never bought her gimmicks and taught her a fitting lesson by showing her the doors in the 1977 general elections. Moreover, the successive Congress governments could not do much on the 20 point program, which ultimately resulted in an utter failure.

Again, the Congress party, which came to power in 2004 by shouting the slogan, “Congress ka haath; Aam Aadmi ke saath”, failed miserably by totally ignoring the ‘aam aadmi’ in the last 30 months, in all aspects of governance.  The whole nation has witnessed the style of Sonia in imitating Indhra during her election campaigns. She used to act like Indhra, by wearing a Saree with its ‘pallu’ covering her head & waving her haath. The aam aadmi, who foolishly believed her & the Congress party, is now searching for that haath, which is not to be seen at all.

Having realized that its pathetic performance of the last 30 months is likely to take it to the doom’s day, the party is now planning to cheat the people again by reviving the failed 30 year old policy. This stupid move will certainly remind the people of those draconian emergency days and will hand over in a platter, a solid weapon, in the haath of the opposition. It is a pity that this party still depends on the illusion that only the so-called magic of Nehru family will bring votes. This move would certainly be seen as an exhibition of arrogance by the people, resulting in a negative impact. This move has proved that the Congress party has gone bankrupt on ideas for good & effective governance.  

The most important point is that, during the time of ’emergency’ & after losing the trust & confidence of the people, Indhra tried to hoodwink the people by announcing the ’20 point program’ under the slogan “Garibi Hatao”. Now, at a time when this Congress led UPA government has again lost the trust & confidence of the people, it is trying to revive the 20 point program & Garibi Hatao policy. Does it mean that the declaration of “Emergency” is on the cards?
