Fund-raising for the poor
TRIPUNITHURA: The Tripunithura Upasabha of Kerala Brahmana Sabha has decided to raise a Social Welfare Fund for helping the poorer section of the society.
The formal inauguration of the fund-raising programme was held at Rukmini Ramakrishna Kalyanamandapam, near Statue Junction, on Saturday. Film actor Suresh Gopi inaugurated the fund-raising programme.
The Upasabha supplied free mosquito nets to patients of Tripunithura Taluk Hospital. K Babu MLA inaugurated the distribution of mosquito nets by handing over the nets to Dr P A Krishnan. The Upasabha also donated a few pieces of essential hospital equipment.
Kerala Brahmana Sabha district president P S Raman presided over the function. Municipal Chairperson Ranjini Suresh, religious head of Madhappilly Samooham V Krishna Vadhyar, Dr T S G Iyer, S Anand, N Santhosh and others spoke on the occasion.
