ETHU’DA’ THERINJA UNMAI? ETHU’DA’ THERINJA UNMAI?

                 NEE THAN’DA’ KOLAI PANNINA! O…

The title of this report is in “chaste” Tamil for which the English translation will read as ” Aye! Which is known truth? Aye! Which is known truth? You only did the murders man! F…” This report is based on a clipping, which is being telecast repeatedly in “Jaya TV” since last (28-05-07) evening. Only Jaya TV has reported this ugly episode and all other newspapers / TV channels have blacked out this news for obvious reasons.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Ina Thalaivan (Leader of Tamil community) Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi had visited the capital New Delhi yesterday on a series of engagements for two days, including the NDC meeting.

While he was leaving from one such meeting, a battery of media men surrounded his car and he agreed to answer their questions. The mikes of Jaya TV, NDTV, Raj TV and a few other channels were prominently seen in the hands of the respective anchors. The first question was asked by the Jaya TV reporter (I presume) as follows:

“Sir! Madurai Dinakaran aluvalagathil nadantha 3 kolaikalukkum pinnal Azhagiri thaan irukkirar enbathu ellorukkum therinja unmai. Atharku government enna action edukka poguthu?”   (“Sir! It is a known truth that Azhagiri was the mastermind behind the murder of three staff of ‘Dinakaran’ at Madurai. What action the government is going to take?”)

The Chief Minister was taken aback with shock and flash came the reply:

“Ethu’da’ therinja unmai? Ethu’da’ therinja Unmai? Nee thanda kolai pannina! O…”

(Aye! Which is known truth? Aye! Which is known truth? You only did the murders man! F…”).

Before he completed his reply the car sped away!

This is not the first time the CM gets provoked and behaves nastily with the media. Immediately after coming to power and forming the government, when a reporter asked about the price increase of petrol & other essential commodities, he asked in return, “Varriya…. rendu perum serndhu thee kulikkalam, varriya….”, meaning “Come… both of us shall immolate ourselves! Come….”

Some time back, during an election campaign in Coimbatore, when he was not in power, he literally shouted at the top of his voice at a reporter and vowed that he would not visit Coimbatore again.

The Chief Minister always has the habit of using the Tamil language in his inimitable style, while criticizing his opponents, but whenever he is countered with anything concerning his party or family, the other side of his Tamil proficiency is exhibited at the lowest level.

Such incidences expose the class, breed & brought-up of the individual and Dravidians are truly a class apart in that! They (Dravidians) are a blot on this Divine Tamil language; Divine Tamil state and Divine Tamil culture.

May Lord Muruga, the Tamil God, save Tamil Nadu!
