“Kashmir is an integral part of India and not the personal property of Geelani and his supporters.  Recently, Geelani had demanded that the period of yearly Amarnath yatra should be curtailed to 15 days.

Asking Geelani not to interfere, he said, “The time, place and duration of Yatra are decided by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and the representative of Hindu religious organizations”.
“I advise Geelani not to play with the sentiments of people”, he said and added “The separatist leader has always played with our nationalist sentiments for which he should be put behind the bars”.

He said Geelani should not forget that it was Kashmiri people, including hoteliers, shikarawalas and various other businessmen who earn their livelihood from Yatra. “If anybody tries to disrupt or create any type of problem in pilgrimage, they will be given a befitting reply,” Karan threatened
