‘Don’t call us Dalits’

Kozhikode: The increased usage of the word ‘Dalit’ is a conspiracy to derail the rights granted by constitution to SC-ST Communities. SC ST Aikya vedi urged not to use ‘Dalit’ to denote SC-ST Communities in apress meet here.
There is a concerted effort by vested interests to grant the rights of SC -ST to others by using the term Dalit. Aikya vedi appealed to media and government not to use this word in any official documents.
SC ST Aikya Vedi Chairman P Sasikumar and General Secretary K K Kesavan were present.
