Modiji reiterates resolve to make Gujarat a world-capital of solar energy

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has reiterated his resolve to make Gujarat a world-capital of solar energy. This will become true with world’s largest solar power plant near Radhanpur in North Gujarat start functioning, he said.

Chief Minister was speaking in ‘Swarnim Urja Shakti Mahotsav’ organized today by the state government at Palanpur. More than one lakh people form Mahesana, Banaskantha, Patan and Sabarkantha district thronged the place. “Presence of large number of people here despite of skin-beating heat signifies that Gujarat’s future is bright”, observed Chief Minister.

Chief Minister took an hour-long visit of a grand exhibition displaying the state’s achievements in the field of power and energy. He also flagged-off Swarnim Asmita Yatra

Shri Modi further said that Gujarat has now become a power-surplus state with 18,000-MW power production capacity. Life in villages has changed as people are getting 24-hour electric supply due to Jyotigram scheme. Milk producers in villages have come out of nightmare of milk spoilage, as they are provided with cold storage machines

He said that Gujarat government is committed to supply gas to every house in Palnpur. Tender process for installing gas pipelines from Mahesana to Palanpur is on hand and the work will get done in short time. In the past, people had to take lot of pains to get gas cylinders. Considering this, State government has put in 2000-km gas pipeline in the state with the expense of crores of rupees.

Central government is giving gas to Gujarat on a high price compare to the rest of India. Gujarat will carry on its growth despite such injustice from Center, He said. Cheques of Rs.85-lakh were donated to Chief Minister’s Kanya Kelavani Nidhi by various organizations.

Revenue Minister Smt.Anandiben Patel, Water Supply Minister Shri Nitin Patel, Social Justice Minister Shri Fakir Vaghela, Education Minister Shri Ramanlal Vora, Minister of State for Water Supply Shri Parbat Patel, Minister of State Shri Jaysinh Chauhan, Labor and Employment Minister Shri Liladhar Vaghela, MPs Smt Jayshriben Patel, Shri Natuji Thakor, MLAs Shri Shankar Chaudhary, Govind Prajapati, Mafatlal Purohit, Babu Desai, Anil Mali, Vasant Bhatol, high officials, office bearers and people in large number were present on the occasion.
