Declare India Hindu state : VHP

Kathua (JK), Apr 18 :  The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today demanded declaration of India as a “Hindu state” saying such a move is an answer to all ills, including the terror menace, plaguing the country.

“VHP wants creation of a Hindu nation on the pattern of England, the greatest democracy in the world, where only a protestant can become a ruler,” VHP General Secretary Parveen Togadia told a function here.

“A Hindu state is an answer to all ills, including terrorism, facing the country,” he said.

The VHP leader said if such a step was taken it would hardly make any difference whether the country was ruled by the BJP or the Congress.

Moreover, no one would talk of reservation for the minorities or oppose ‘Vande Mataram’, he said.

“India was a Hindu nation since Vedic times. We have to restore that status,” Togadia said.
