Kozhikode: BJP president Kummanam Rajashekharan has termed as unfortunate, the sarcastic attitude donned by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, regarding the matter of peace talks between RSS and CPM, with a view towards eliminating any further political unrest in the state. The Chief Minister made the ridiculing remark that “people would stomp out the very concept in contempt”, while addressing the Press Club Meet. Castigating the remark, Kummanam said that Oommen Chandy’s remark challenges the very idea of trust vested by people in him.

Highlighting that peace was most vital for the healthy existence of any land, Kummanam said that “this is not the problem pertaining to any specific political party or organization.”

“It is the duty of a state Chief Minister to ensure that peace prevails and that all initiatives towards this be well explored and catered to by the elected representative. But it is such a person who has scornfully derided the matter. This is a strong breech of trust by the Chief Minister, placed by citizens in him. It would also be good if the Chief Minister and KPCC president remembers the murders unleashed in Thrissur and Chavakkad as a result of factionalism in Congress,” pointed out Kummanam.

Exposing how the two rulings fronts of Kerala, UDF and LDF have been, over a protracted span of time, betraying the trust of people and hoodwinking the citizens, Kummanam said that people are now craving for a change. “This is chiefly instrumental in creating a congenial atmosphere for BJP in the state. BJP stands committed towards liberating the state of Kerala ravaged by alternative political fronts,” he said.

Kummanam said that the reason for both fronts incessantly targeting BJP is the insecurity over the steady growth being witnessed by the party over a span of time. “The UDF and LDF have reached a stage where they cannot proceed a step further without subjecting BJP to criticism,” he said.

Adding that a reconstruction in Kerala politics had become inevitable, Kummanam sought to know the validity of the yatra being organized by KPCC president VM Sudheeran,  who was deliberately maintaining silence over several glaring issues that stared at citizens and choosing the moment to launch offensive on BJP instead. “BJP believes in the politics richly endowed in exchange of healthy political ideas, contrary to that of the ongoing politics of hatred and unhealthy opposition,” he added.
