Christians Oppose Rangnath Mishra Report
New Delhi: December 18, 2009:
A careful examination of the Rangnath Mishra Report indicates that it will create problems for the Christian minority community in India. Currently the job share percentage of Christians in services like teachers, nursing, clerical and junior level CEO is more than their numerical percentage. This is due to their sincerity, honesty and better education. The reservation policy based on the Rangnath Mishra Commission would dilute the job opportunities of the Christian community who believe in equal opportunity based on the opportunity. Reservation based on religion would ghettoise the minorities. Â
The Poor Christian Liberation Movement (PCLM) and Indian Christian Righteous Action Forum (ICRA) leader Mr. R L Francis & Joseph G. Anthony termed the report “a pill worst than dieasesâ€. “The reservation based on religion is not only unconstitutional it would also create bad blood between minorities and the Hindus. No same minority person would like to reduce the reservation pie of the Hindus and take a slice out of it†he further added.
PCLM and ICRA Forum, an independent body of Christians, opposes Rangnath Mishra Commission Report and urges the Govt of Dr. Man Mohan Singh to ignore its recommendation.
