Child Trafficking: No Bail for Accused.

The bail plea presented by those arrested in connection with the recent child trafficking case has been rejected. The bail plea, sought by Bihar natives Abdul Haji Ansari, Mohammed Alamgir, Maulana Faidullah and Jharkhand native Mohammed Haidrose Alam was rejected by Justice KP Jyothinath, Principal District and Sessions Judge. The four are now in Palakkad sub jail.

The four were arrested by on 25 May railway police for suspected involvement in the child trafficking case, where minor children from Bihar, Jharkhand etc were brought into Muslim orphanages. The four confessed to having taken the children to the orphanage in Mukkam.

All the four suspects were remanded to judicial custody on 26 May, when their first bail plea was rejected. The second bail plea was submitted after a 14 day remand period.

A case has been charged against them in accordance with Section 370 (5). The case has been registered for child trafficking and bringing in more than a single minor child, illegally.

A total of 11 persons have been arrested so far. The Crime Branch is now investigating the case.
