Cash for votes : UPA paid bribe to support Govt., BJP seek PM resignation
NEW DELHI : Amidst animated debate over the trust vote, the scene in Parliament today turned theatrical when three Opposition MPs walked into the well of the house with bags stashed with bundles of cash. The three BJP MPs said that the Samajwadi Party had offered them 9 crores to abstain during the trust vote.
The MPs said they were paid Rs.1 crore each to stay away from the Lok Sabha later Tuesday and promised Rs.8 crore after the conclusion of the trust vote.
Meanwhile, BJP president Rajnath Singh has demanded the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh following allegations by three of his party MPs that they were offered money by a Samajwadi Party leader to abstain from voting.
