Case Filed Against Blasphemous Facebook Report on Parvathi Devi’s ‘Thripoothaaraattu’
The Police Department of Chengannur has registered a case against a certain Shiva Prasad of Kodungallur, who maintains a blasphemous Facebook page. The page contains narrations that extremely disturbing for devotees, hurting all religious and devotional sentiments. Shiva Prasad has ridiculed and castigated the ritual of Parvathi Devi’s ‘Thripoothaaraattu’ observed in the Mahadeva Temple, Chengannur. Â
The petition has been filed against Shiva Prasad by secretary of temple advisory committee Raghu Mithula, Advocates R Unnikrishnan and Sreejith Somashekharan. Following the petition filed, Facebook authorities have brought the page under restriction. The case has now been handed over to the cyber cell, which is conducting an indepth probe into the matter.
