BJP seeks clarification on Batla
New Delhi: The BJP on Friday sought an explanation from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi over their party general secretary Digvijay Singh’s statement that his visit to families of Batla house encounter accused at Azamgarh had the approval of the two leaders. Digvijay had visited Azamgarh and raised question over the genuineness of the encounter that took place after the serial blasts in New Delhi in September 2008. “Congress has, in fact, given respectability to terrorism by sending Digvijay Singh to Azamgarh. This vote bank politics will undermine the country’s efforts in fighting terrorism,†said BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar.
