BJP-RSS group sweeps MSU syndicate polls
VADODARA: It was a clean sweep for the BJP-RSS group as results of the ten seats of M S University’s new syndicate body were declared on Wednesday. The group managed victory of all the ten candidates supported by it in both the general category and teachers’ category. A total of 83 senate members had voted during the polls in both the categories. Of these, two votes were declared invalid.
In the elections for the six seats of general category, Ashwin Chokshi bagged the highest number of votes – 81, followed by Prakash Shah who bagged 79 votes in his favour. President of the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) Geeta Goradia received 77 votes while chartered accountant Milind Mehta received 76 votes. Sitting senate member Mukund Shah received 65 votes while principal of Sardar Vinay Mandir school Kamal Shah received 58 votes.
