LUCKNOW: BJP kaa haath aam admi ke saath looks to be the new mantra of the party, to dominate the Bharatiya Janata Party national executive and council meeting, beginning on Friday.

The plight of the common masses due to spiralling prices of essential commodities and increasing menace of terrorism and minoritism under the UPA regime would be the focal point of the party’s three-day brainstorming session.

In the guise of a resolution on the betrayal of the masses by the Congress-led UPA Government, the BJP would attempt to bring home the point that the present Government had abysmally failed in taking care of the people’s needs. Senior party leader M Venkaiah Naidu would bring in the resolution at the National Executive on Friday.

Former Union Minister and Deputy Leader in the Rajaya Sabha Sushma Swaraj will introduce the resolution on the UPA’s politics of division and appeasement, and internal security. The decision to this effect was taken at the party’s high-level meeting at the residence of BJP president Rajnath Singh.

Ananth Kumar, Sanjay Joshi, OP Mathur, Vinay Katiyar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and RSS pracharak Ramlal Gupta attended the meeting.

Remarkably the presence of Ram Lalji, RSS pracharak in charge of eastern UP, in the meeting was seen as a sign of growing clout of Sangh Parivar in the BJP.

According to Naqvi, the National Executive in two sessions would deliberate upon the people’s woes and increasing incidents of terror arising out the UPA government’s softness towards terrorism.

“From Vande Mataram to religion based reservation, the UPA government has played havoc with the people’s sentiments on all counts,” Naqvi said. The meeting would also discuss the party’s strategy for the coming UP poll.

Naqvi said that the national executive meeting would start with Vande Mataram, followed by the address of Rajnath Singh at the convention centre of King George Medical, constructed with the MPLD funds of former PrimeMinister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who arrived in the state capital on Thursday. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha would reach here on Friday morning.

Keeping strictly in view the crucial poll to Uttar Pradesh assembly, the BJP looks also set to bracket Mulayam Singh Yadav along with the Congress led UPA government in betraying the people’s mandate by indulging in the politics of division and appeasement.

“The people of Uttar Pradesh are faced with the same kind of problems, which the countrymen are facing in parts, because of the wrong policies of the UPA Government,” Naqvi said.

He said that the national council meeting to be held in five sessions on December 23 and 24 would begin with the endorsement of Singh’s election as the party president, followed by the presidential address.

“Apart from the resolutions passed by the executive committee, a slew of other issues ranging from deteriorating internal security to illegal migration would be discussed in the national council meeting,” he added. The venue of the meeting had been named after former RSS pracharak Sunder Singh Bhandari Parisar.

Asked when Atal and Advani would address the meetings of the party’s two important bodies, Naqvi said that the decision in this regard was yet to be taken. “They would certainly guide us.

The national council meeting would conclude with the speech of the party president Singh,” he said.
