BJP leader attacked by Fanatic Mob, in Gujarath

Rajkot, March 13: Violent Muslim mob attacked a  BJP leader with sharp-edged weapons at Ramnath Para area of the city.

About 40 people rushed to the residence of BJP leader Jity Mehta with sharp-edged weapons late last night after a person from their community was rebuked by Mehta for harassing girls in the area, police said.

The boy called other members of the community and allegedly attacked Mehta, when he was standing outside his residence, police said.

Mehta, who escaped the attack called police, who dispersed the mob and stepped up security to avoid any further flare-up, police said.

No one was injured in the attack, they said and added that 40 people have been booked for rioting.
