New Delh: BJP president Rajnath Singh on Saturday launched the party’s own email system by sending out the first official email through the BJP email system. It was developed by the BJP’s IT cell convenor, Mr Pradyut Bora. It has several other advanced tools like instant messaging, video-telephony, video-conferencing and IP faxing.

Mr Singh had launched the ambitious BJP on every booth plan. The latest technological innovation will be used for advancing that plan. The party, which has its own dedicated server, can send out internal communications to the party leaders and workers. Besides, the party can also obtain feedback from the booth level. In the first phase, the facility is provided to the top 300 leaders.

In the next phase and within the next one month, it would provide this facility to 3,000 workers, in the next quarter to 30,000 and in the next six months to 3,00,000.

Former Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy made a novel power-point presentation, which showcases the other uses of the system — of booth-level election management. Mr Rudy made a demonstration of what he has been trying booth-level election management for the past years in his own Chapra parliamentary constituency in Bihar.

Mr Singh said he planned massive IT upgradation in the BJP. “My vision is to make the BJP the world’s most automated political party,” he said.

A blueprint has been drawn up to complement the wide area network with the local area network.
