Bearded flying men
For sure the Supreme Court will stay this once and all the political parties will have terrific floor coordinations to halt this ruling.
The Punjab High Court today ruled that IAF personel following Islam need not sport a beard to work.
Replying to a lawsuit filed by an airman Aftab Ansari, the court said that personel who was not sporting a beard when he attended the interview cannot grow a beard without permission. Aftab grew his beard when on leave. He has been earlier denied permission to sport a beard.
Growing a beard is not compulsory in Islam. It is only persumed to be so.
The Supreme Court has given a directive to the High Court to give a verdict on the case within three months after a special petition was filed by the IAF to clear the stay given earlier.
It is to be seen how the legal wing of the country will fight this case as it involves the sentiments of the growing minority!!
