Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Sunday said that his autobiography ‘My Country My Life’ was less about his life and more about the political developments in the country and Indian democracy after independence.

“I feel very happy that the BJP and RSS have been instrumental in building the kind of India we had dreamt about,” Advani said addressing a function here to mark the formal launch of his book in Kerala. He released the book by presenting a copy to the South Indian mega star Mammooty. The RSS ideologue P Parameswaran presided in the function which was well attended by people from all walks of life in Kochi.

Advani said he had always firmly believed that India had “limitless” resources. By utilising modern technology, a healthy, strong, prosperous and enlightened India can be built, he said.

“I have no doubt that this is feasible. The potential is immense. The younger generation in India has far better IQ than we (have). The exposure they are getting is much more than during our time,” he said.

However, the younger generation lacks emotional quotient, which comes from maturity, he said adding, spiritual quotient and moral quotient are necessary and India has that in abundance.

India was now being respected the world over and its potential recognised, Advani said.

“A time will come when the world will accept that the 21st century belongs to India” and this is what I have tried to convey through this book, Advani said.

Advani also said that some chapters in the book were related to the phases in life he has gone through and the growth of the country in the political perspective.

When asked the veteran leader said that he has not written the book in view of the impending general elections in the country and added that he had decided to retire from politics once he reaches eighty years of age.

He also said that a book of this magnitude requires more than a year to compile and write and he had no idea on whether there would be a general elections during the completion of the book.
