Ask UPA Govt to quit: Dr Swamy tells Congress Party

via HK Correspondent published on February 17, 2006

NEW DELHI: In a strongly worded statement, Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swamy told the Congress Party to set an example by asking the  UPA Government led by Manmohan singh to resign. “Instead of asking for the resignation of the Mulayam Singh Government in Uttar Pradesh because one of the ministers has been caught in drug trafficking in a video sting operation, the Congress Party should instead set an example by asking the UPA government to resign because of the revelations in the Mitrokin Archives, Volcker Report, and the stinking Quattrocchi scandal, not to mention the sullying of the Constitution in Goa, Jharkhand and Bihar,” said Dr Swamy in the statement which was released on Friday morning.

The former Union Minister for LAw and Company Affairs termed the Congress Party’s demand as ‘ridiculously hypocritical’ since the UPA government itself s fully immersed in a cesspool of corruption and anti-national activities. “Moreover, the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been caught committing perjury by filing an affidavit claiming to have been educated in the University of Cambridge when in fact she has not even passed high school in Italy,” Dr Swamy  said in the statement. . He warned the Congress Party that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others.
