Arundhati Roy opposes Anna

In today’s Hindu Newspaper – There is a article written by Arundathi Roy against Anna Hazare. My rebutting of the points on views expressed by her will not be published by the said newspaper. So, I am doing it here.

As usual, she started a personal attack on Annaji. This time, she says, he is against SC’s of the villages. He has not followed Gandhian principles. She wanted to write about the anti-corruption movement, but started abusing. There is no other way for her to put forth her views.

Second, a pet theory, Annaji was closely associated with RSS in his earlier days. Hey! You do not have any other thing to say? So, if any body fights against corruption then he ought to be an RSS man? Fine.

Third, crowd pulling tactics of Annaji. She says, as if Christ multiplied two fish into thousands and served food, media is unnecessarily acting as Christ to hype Annajis movement. She says, not even few hundreds attended his movement, but due to media hype, lakhs have joined. What she wants to say? Nobody, particularly Indians should not fight against corruption or support anti-corruption movement! She indirectly ridicules Indian Public and their sentiments and their wish of a clean state.

I do not understand why her article was published in the first place? To give freedom of speech or opinion? There is no question of freedom of speech or one`s opinion in this movement. One aim – to root out corruption! If the newspaper is for anti-corruption movement, then why the hell it published the article, is a question I leave here itself.

Second, some where else in the same newspaper a news item about the death of Mr. Sharma, a communist historian! The news item says, he was instrumental in gathering opinion against Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

Now, everything is clear. The communists are against religious feelings of Hindus. Most of the historians who are being heard in newspapers are belong to Communists and other sects who are against Hindus. Media like HINDU are supporting them.
